FAQ
What are Agent Cards?
Agent Cards are focused Live Activities for meaningful moments from a approved agent or automation: progress, countdowns, cues, journeys, status rings and fixed low-stakes Yes/No questions. See the current capabilities and Card Gallery.
Can I try a card without an agent?
Open Settings → Agent Cards → See a sample card. The clearly marked sample lasts 15 minutes and uses no pairing, online identity or network. Lock your device to see it. On supported iPhones, touch and hold Dynamic Island to expand it. The sample will not interrupt an active real card.
How do I connect an agent?
- In Settings → Agent Cards, tap Connect an agent. This creates a private device connection and anonymous setup identity; no name, email or password is needed.
- For a supported setup integration, choose Create setup invitation → Copy invitation for chat. Compare the confirmation code on both sides and approve only your intended request.
- For persistent use, enter an agent name under Persistent agent connector, then choose Approve and prepare connector → Approve connector. In a compatible agent app's connector settings, paste Copy server URL into the server URL field. Use request-header name Authorization and the complete value from Copy private Authorization header. Save, enable it for the session, and verify that Startr tools appear.
The five-minute invitation contains no reusable key and belongs only in a chat with a supported setup integration. It does not install tools into a generic browser chat. The private Authorization header belongs only in compatible connector settings—never chat, email or messages. Phone approval cannot enable tools in another app by itself.
How do I follow a shared Cue?
Install Startr and open the host's invitation on your device, then follow it. You need no agent, CLI or host pairing. Following is read-only; tap the card to read the full cue. A late join waits for a fresh host update rather than a stored card-history replay. You can leave from Agent Cards settings.
How do I answer an Agent Card question?
Tap the fixed Yes or No button on the Lock Screen card. In Dynamic Island, long-press to expand it first. Tapping the card body opens Startr; Apple Watch and compact or minimal Island presentations show the question but remain display-only.
Why do I see only one Agent Card in Dynamic Island?
iOS chooses one Startr Live Activity for Dynamic Island. All active cards remain available on the Lock Screen and as separate Apple Watch Smart Stack activities; same-app cards cannot be swiped in Dynamic Island.
How do I disconnect an agent?
Open Settings → Agent Cards to revoke one connected agent. Delete connection and data removes this device's anonymous setup identity, installation and approved agent credentials. End active hosted sharing first if prompted. Local habits and separately followed shared cards remain. Limited purchase-verification records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy. Uninstalling alone does not request server deletion or cancel an Apple subscription.
What will Startr Pro cost?
Planned pricing is $2.99/week or $49.99/year, with a limited $39.99 Founding annual window and a 7-day trial on annual only. There is no monthly or lifetime plan. See full pricing details.
Do I need an account to use Startr?
Habit tracking works locally without online setup. Optional Agent Cards create an anonymous setup identity without asking for a name, email or password, and require internet access and explicit approval. Pairing does not give agents access to habit, Health or location history.
Does my data sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Startr habit data stays on each device in the current release. Cross-device accountability groups and CloudKit group sync are not enabled. Use Settings → Your Data to export a backup.
I'm not getting notifications.
Open iOS Settings → Startr → Notifications and confirm that Allow Notifications is on. Then, in Startr's own settings, make sure notifications are enabled and that you have at least one goal-oriented activity that isn't already complete for the period.
How do reminder schedules work?
Startr scales reminder frequency to your goal period so you aren't pinged daily for yearly goals:
- Daily goals → every day.
- Weekly goals → once a week, mid-week.
- Monthly goals → once a week, on Mondays.
- Quarterly goals → the 1st of each month.
- Yearly goals → the 1st of each quarter.
- All-time goals → no reminders (no deadline).
How do I delete an activity?
Swipe left on the activity card on the Home screen, or open the activity and tap Delete at the bottom. Deletion removes all logged entries for that activity.
