Milestone notes from TestFlight and the road to the App Store.

September 12, 2026 · Launch candidate, not yet released

Preparing the public Startr

Build 51 is being verified for launch. It brings the tested Agent Card progress, countdown, Journey, status-ring and shared Cue experiences together with safer setup instructions, in-app connection deletion and purchase verification. Shared updates and synchronized countdowns have been tested on two phones; followers need no agent.

The launch version has no ads. Planned public capacity is one connected agent and one live card on Free, or five agents and five pooled cards on Pro. See launch capabilities, current setup help and the updated Privacy Policy. Public App Store release is not live yet.

Older entries below describe their historical beta builds; their private-beta limits and advertising implementation do not describe the launch version.

Agent Cards answer back

Startr's first bounded two-way Agent Card is live internally. A connected agent can ask one fixed, low-stakes Yes/No question, and the user can answer without opening another dashboard.

Interaction

  • Fixed Yes/No controls on the Lock Screen and expanded Dynamic Island.
  • Durable answer polling lets the originating agent read pending, answered, or expired—expiry never silently becomes No.
  • First physical loop passed: Claude asked, Chad tapped Yes, and Claude received the durable answer before restoring its countdown.

Boundaries

  • Apple Watch and compact/minimal Dynamic Island remain display-only for questions.
  • No arbitrary labels, callbacks, remote URLs, or consequential approvals.
  • Build 44 remains an internal TestFlight; wider beta access is not open yet.

Three agents enter the Lock Screen

The agent-first Startr became real across three connected agents and four Apple-controlled surfaces, while keeping the original habit tracker intact.

Proven

  • Three simultaneous cards from Codex, Claude, and Grok on one physical iPhone.
  • Lock Screen, Dynamic Island, and Apple Watch Smart Stack all received live updates; iPhone activities also mirrored to Mac as menu-bar chips.
  • Progress, countdown, and Cue Mode presentations use bounded Startr-owned layouts rather than agent-supplied UI.
  • MCP and CLI paths share the same private, revocable connector model.

Still internal

  • One-host Shared Card delivery to up to five read-only recipients is implemented; physical multi-device acceptance remains open.
  • Reusable Crew and public channels have not shipped.
  • Scheduled Cues are not implemented; a host agent or other persistent executor must send each update today.

The Polish Update

Five waves of detail work — celebrations got smarter, streaks got their own moment, every tile shows a 7-day sparkline, and the app opens with a branded shimmer. Plus a full website refresh with the demo video and screenshot gallery.

Celebrations

  • Confetti intensity tiers. Small burst on goal completion, medium on streak milestones — each with tuned particle count, speed, and gravity.
  • Streak milestone moments. Landing a 1 / 7 / 30 / 100 / 365-day streak triggers a full-screen number celebration with bespoke copy per milestone, separate from the regular goal overlay.
  • Share card auto-appears a few seconds after every goal completion with your stats — streak, hit rate, and a one-tap share sheet.

Home screen

  • 7-day sparkline under every activity card's progress ring — a quick visual of your consistency pattern for the week.
  • Daily motivational line rotates. The all-goals-done message cycles through 18 phrases keyed to the day of the year so it never repeats two days running.
  • Progress ring bounce on each tap — a small scale spring so every rep registers visually.

Launch experience

  • Wordmark shimmer on cold launch. The Startr logo sweeps a light sheen across the screen before the tab bar fades in.

Visual polish

  • Typography scale unified across all views (titlePrimary, displayMedium, captionMedium).
  • Card corner radius bumped 14→16 px across the app; hero tiles 16→18 px.
  • Card border opacity increased for better depth on Startr Dark.
  • Paywall: owned plan card gets an accent glow border and drop shadow.
  • Settings theme picker: checkmark springs in on selection.

Website

  • Demo video live in the hero phone frame — 10 seconds of real tapping.
  • Screenshot gallery with four in-app screens.
  • Press kit, updated privacy and support pages, sitemap.
  • Email notification fix: envelope sender now aligns with SPF.

Streaks 2.0 + IAP Foundation

The streak system got a full rethink — graded consistency scoring, freeze days, calendar heat maps, and milestone trophies. StoreKit 2 IAP infrastructure landed with the Startr Pro paywall wired and ready for products.

Streaks 2.0

  • Graded consistency. A 30% day counts as 30%, not zero — one missed day doesn't erase a month of progress.
  • 30-day calendar grid in Activity Detail with color-graded dots showing your exact pattern.
  • Streak freeze. Weekly allowance protects your chain across planned rest days.
  • Multi-period streak chips — day / week / month streaks shown simultaneously on every activity.
  • Personal records surface best-ever streak anywhere in the app.

Trophies

  • Catalog expanded from 14 to 17: First Day, Habit Formed, Double Centurion added.
  • Trophy Wall flex stat shows best-ever across all activities.

Monetization

  • Startr Pro paywall — planned $2.99/week and $49.99/year options, with a limited $39.99 Founding annual offer. Purchase availability remains disabled until the products are live in App Store Connect.
  • Pro gate on all ad surfaces: banner, interstitial, and inline list ads.
  • Restore Purchases in Settings and Paywall.

Design

  • Custom Startr wordmark + arc icon lockup in every tab toolbar.
  • Startr Dark ships as the default theme (deep navy + cyan arc gradient).
  • Home hero header: big date, numericText animation, encouragement line.
  • Weekly Recap "shape of the week" pattern strip.

HealthKit, Watch Sync & Explore

Apple Watch app, Home Screen widgets, HealthKit write-back, and the Explore tab with curated habit templates across 12 categories.

Platform

  • Apple Watch app — log from your wrist, syncs to phone via WatchConnectivity.
  • Home Screen widgets — small and medium sizes for seeing today's progress at a glance.
  • HealthKit integration — optionally writes water, steps, and mindful minutes to Apple Health.

Explore tab

  • Curated habit templates across 12 categories: Health, Fitness, Mindfulness, Learning, Faith, Finance, and more.
  • One-tap import adds any template to your Home screen.

Performance

  • Fixed 60-second freeze on step-count goals — entry model changed to a single entry carrying the full increment instead of N individual rows.
